Grace Bommarito, DO, has joined The Ob-Gyn Center as a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, and we want to introduce her to our patients. Dr. Bommarito brings clinical training in high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, along with a patient-care style built around clear conversation, visual education, and collaborative decisions about your health.
A Path Shaped by Labor and Delivery
Dr. Bommarito was born and raised in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University Chicago and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan, and is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Her path into women’s health started early. Her mother worked as a NICU registered nurse, and growing up around labor and delivery shaped her view of medicine from the start. As her training continued, OB/GYN gave her something she had not found in other specialties: the chance to care for patients across every phase of life, from puberty through pregnancy, perimenopause, and beyond.
What You Can Expect at a Visit With Dr. Bommarito
Dr. Bommarito treats every appointment as a conversation. She uses clear language, anatomical models, and visual aids to break down complex medical information so you can understand what is happening and weigh your options with confidence.
Her clinical interests include:
- High-risk obstetrics. Dr. Bommarito has the training to manage complex pregnancies, working alongside maternal-fetal medicine specialists when additional expertise is needed. Her goal is for high-risk patients to feel informed at every step, not just monitored.
- Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Many gynecologic conditions that once required open surgery can now be treated through smaller incisions and shorter recovery times. Dr. Bommarito walks patients through their surgical options in detail, including the alternatives, the recovery timeline, and what life looks like on the other side of the procedure.
- Patient advocacy and inclusive care. Dr. Bommarito is passionate about sex education, equity, and making sure every patient feels safe, respected, and heard in the exam room. She believes patients should leave feeling accepted and understood, regardless of background or circumstance.
Her Philosophy of Care
Dr. Bommarito believes medicine is a team sport. She values the input of her colleagues, asks for second opinions when collaboration leads to better outcomes, and treats patient care as a shared effort between provider and patient.
Her goal at every visit is straightforward: she wants you to leave feeling safe, accepted, understood, and equipped with a plan, even when all the answers are not yet available. She wants you to know that your needs are unique, your opinions matter, and she is listening.
Outside of the Office
When she is not at the practice, Dr. Bommarito is spending time with her husband, John, and their two dogs, Kingsley and Eggroll. She loves to travel, swim, kickbox, cook, and knit. She is also a loyal Detroit Lions fan.
